About Karen - A Summary

Karen has been deeply involved in the design and production of interactive, multi-platform games and productions for over 12 years.

After obtaining an Architectural Science degree at the University of Sydney she spent 10 years in the architecture industry, primarily with the award winning Tonkin Zulaikha Greer - where she was the first in the office to adopt a mobile phone and email address, and to use that new thing 'The Internet'.

An HTML course quickly led to a side-line in website production, before moving to a full time role with Forest Interactive, where Karen was responsible for the development, production and delivery of dozens of commercial CD-Rom, DVD, online and mobile titles, whilst riding the wave of rapid changes and evolutions in the interactive and digital industry.

Cross Media was the natural next step, so Karen joined Hoodlum Active as Senior Producer. Here she worked with high-profile clients to direct and launch three cross-platform productions built on state-of-the-art technologies, including Primeval Evolved for UK's ITV.

Karen is now quite excited to be out in the big wide ever-evolving digital world, to bring her expertise to projects at the leading edge of technology, and to continue to create and produce compelling digital entertainment and presences.

Karen has also spent time as a Record Department Manager (remember vinyl?), waitress and bar manager, and is still a contemporary dancer – although she's never really been paid for that. Of course her dream is to one day be a travel writer as retirement is not part of the long term plan.
